A to Z Challenge 2016 -D for Darkness (Day 4)

Today’s letter is D and I have based my poem on the theme darkness. It is probably one of the most overused words in a poem, but I like it’s affinity towards pain. It almost feels symbiotic when you write about the two words.
It is a very raw draft. Hope you guys like it. Happy Writing!

Darkness shrouded
the room,
as she wept,
Her companion
the walls,
heard her,
every night,
She leapt
Thinking that she heard
She slept,
Hoping there would be,
Other than
the darkness itself,
Her body ached,
Clobbering her,
Frigid winds
Seeped through the holes,
She floated,
In numbness,
She prayed.
