Sabine marched into the kitchen, hungry as hell and upturned the vessels’ lids to check out what her sister-in-law had prepared for lunch that day. Her face bloated into a grumpy frown as she walked out into the hall and slumped on the sofa.
“I cannot believe it! You made Dal and eggs for lunch?! Who eats that these days?”
Nyssa’s face went rigid and tense as she gritted her teeth from uttering a biting remark. Oh how she wanted to run Sabine’s head through a wall and plant it there like a hunted beast. She floated amidst this flimsy day-dream of hers as Sabine’s infuriating voice brought her back to reality.
“Are you just going to stand there? Set up the table for lunch already!”
Nyssa dragged her feet into the kitchen and began arranging the plates and glasses on the table, all the while cursing Sabine and her uninvited presence.
